Fredrick Fox

My name is Tracey Robinson and I am looking for any information that might help me to track my Grandfather.

His name is Fredrick Fox and he served for the RAF in Norton, Rhodesia in 1944.

I believe that he returned to Rhodesia after the war and joined the BSAP.

I realise it is not much information to go by but unfortunately, it's all I have.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards  Tracey Robinson <traceyicoud@me.com>

DNA testing is a great tool

DNA testing is a great tool

But proceed with some caution especially when when testing between recent generations.

In the US a large number of DNA test done to establish if guys are liable for child support after a divorce. The kicker is a large percentage find out they are not the father of their children !!

Looking for Ian Young

To Whom It May Concern:

In the course of researching my family tree, I have learned that one member, and her husband, lived in Zimbabwe.  I have reason to believe members of the family still live in or near Bulawayo.

The relatives in question are Annie Georgina (nee Holmes) and her husband Charles Newton Dodd.  Both of these people were born in Yorkshire, England. As early as 1912, I believe they emigrated to South Africa.  Sometime after that, they came to live in Bulawayo, where Charles worked as a grocer. He died there in January of 1941. According to his death certificate, he had a will, registered as #7115.  Annie Georgina died in Umtali in 1953. Her will is #13219.

The Dodds had a daughter named Alice May.  Between 1941 and 1953, she married Ian Young.  They had a son, but I do not know his name.

I know there is not much information to work with, I would like to know if there are any resources available that might help me learn more about them, the nature of their business, or anything about their family:  city directories, phone books, or such like.

With thanks,
